When A1c is measured 2-4 times in a year, diabetes management has unmonitored gaps. Continuous A1c algorithm can fill the gaps between laboratory A1c measurements. Robustness and accuracy evaluation showed that algorithm is able to calculate continuous A1c reliably for diabetics with regular self-monitoring blood glucose measurements, and algorithm works even with biased measurement patterns. Therefore, continuous A1c algorithm can be used to guide in day-to-day diabetes management.
